Job summary

Michael & Son Services in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Senior Accountant to own key accounting processes, ensure accurate monthly close, and partner with the finance team to drive process improvements.

The role requires 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; experience with Sage Intacct or Service Titan is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end closing procedures.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Ability to own and improve processes; root-cause analysis.
• Ability to explain accounting concepts clearly.
• Nice to have: Sage Intacct, ServiceTitan, lease accounting, revenue recognition, or experience in MEP/construction.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close and improve the process to be accurate and on time.
• Own account reconciliations and establish standardized procedures.
• Prepare and review journal entries and financial reports.
• Analyze variances and investigate causes.
• Coach and support other accounting team members.
• Identify and fix process problems rather than workaround.
• Support audits, tax work, system improvements, and other projects.
