Job summary

Meeting Street Schools seeks a Senior Accountant to lead financial operations, ensuring GAAP-compliant reports and accuracy across financial statements. You will mentor staff, oversee month-, quarter-, and year-end closes, and partner with leadership on budgeting and dashboards.

The role requires 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, and strong Excel and cloud ERP skills (Intacct/NetSuite). CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field is required.
• CPA or progress towards CPA is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with responsibility for month-end and year-end close processes.
• Solid understanding of GAAP; Governmental & Fund Accounting experience.
• Proven experience preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Experience setting expectations, modeling best practices, and promoting accountability across processes.
• Proficiency in Excel and cloud-based ERP accounting systems (e.g., Intacct, NetSuite, QuickBooks Online).

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Provide mentorship and technical oversight to staff accountants and financial analysts.
• Analyze financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decisions.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies; strengthen internal controls.
