Senior Accountant, Inventory based in United States.

This is a senior accounting role focused on inventory, cost accounting, financial close, and accurate financial reporting within a high-volume CPG environment.

You will play a key role in maintaining complete financial records and ensuring accounting activities comply with U.S. GAAP and internal policies.

The position owns important inventory accounting activities, including reconciliations, COGS analysis, reserves, obsolescence, and transaction accuracy across multiple sales channels.

You will collaborate closely with Operations, Supply Chain, IT, FP&A, and other cross-functional teams to strengthen controls and resolve financial discrepancies.

The role also provides exposure to audits, tax compliance, accounting policy development, fixed assets, debt, accruals, and process improvement initiatives.

As a hands-on contributor, you will investigate variances, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions that improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

This is a fully remote, full-time opportunity offering meaningful ownership within a fast-growing and collaborative finance environment.

Accountabilities
  • Own key components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring financial information is complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, with a particular focus on inventory-related transactions and accounting activities.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and ensure appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Analyze inventory transactions across multiple sales channels and collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and IT to maintain inventory accuracy, appropriate cutoffs, and effective internal controls.
  • Calculate and analyze cost of goods sold, inventory reserves, and inventory obsolescence, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment and reporting.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and accounting support to cross-functional teams as business needs arise.
  • Support internal and external audits as well as tax compliance activities by providing accurate financial information and documentation.
  • Assist with documenting and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and supporting controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls, particularly within inventory-related activities, and help implement and document those improvements.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with U.S. GAAP, applicable FASB ASC standards, internal accounting policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Support accounting activities related to debt, fixed assets, accruals, and other assigned financial areas.
  • Collaborate effectively with finance and operational stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Travel may be required on an as-needed basis, at less than 5%, with advance notice.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA certification is preferred.
  • 3--5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with Big Four public accounting experience considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and reconciling inventory across multiple locations or operational environments.
  • Strong variance-analysis skills, with the ability to identify root causes, investigate discrepancies, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including the ability to research, interpret, and apply U.S. GAAP and FASB ASC standards to business transactions and financial reporting.
  • Experience working with ERP systems is required; NetSuite experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with FloQast or warehouse-management-system connection tools is desirable.
  • Experience in a CPG or FMCG environment is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across finance, operations, supply chain, IT, and FP&A.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet close deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to work independently, investigate accounting issues thoroughly, and take ownership of assigned areas.
  • Comfortable working primarily in a seated, remote environment, with the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull objects requiring up to 10 pounds of force.
Benefits
  • Annual salary of $105,000--$115,000 USD, with compensation based on experience.
