Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services is seeking a Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant to join the Accounting team in Pleasant Valley, MO. The role focuses on sales tax compliance, internal billing, and general accounting, with a backup function for the sales tax accountant.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience in a mid- to large-sized company, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in a mid- to large-sized company.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state sales and use tax compliance.
• Proficiency in internal billing or intercompany billing processes.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Sales Tax & Compliance (Backup): prepare and file multi-state returns; stay updated on tax laws; assist audits; reconcile tax GL accounts.
• Internal Billing: review/post internal repair orders; verify billing data; resolve discrepancies; prepare billing reports; implement policies.
• General Accounting: assist month-end/year-end closing; support external audits; ensure internal controls and policies; contribute to process improvements.
