Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in New Haven, CT. You will perform day-to-day accounting, support month-end close, and contribute to financial reporting to uphold accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires a solid accounting foundation, strong attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with partners across functions. Prior experience with ERP/OneStream and audit support is preferred; CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification strongly preferred.
• Strong foundation in accounting principles including accruals, reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, fixed assets, leases, and intercompany activity.
• Professional accounting experience supporting month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit requests.
• Experience with ERP and consolidation/reporting systems such as JDE, SAP, Oracle NetSuite, OneStream, Hyperion, Power BI, or Business Objects.
• Strong Excel skills including lookups, pivot tables, and large data analysis.
• Ability to retrieve, validate, and analyze information across multiple systems.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Support month-end close by posting, analyzing, and reconciling entries within deadlines.
• Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve variances.
• Support external audits with documentation and auditor requests.
• Prepare and manage intergroup billing activity with internal partners.
• Manage intergroup loan accounting and reporting with schedules.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, additions, disposals, depreciation, and reporting.
• Prepare lease accounting and reporting schedules and ensure proper treatment.
• Work within OneStream for consolidation, reporting, and close activities.
• Collaborate with finance/operations/shared services to address issues and ad hoc requests.
• Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and controls.
• Contribute to special projects with a practical accounting perspective.
