Job summary

ASSA ABLOY in New Haven, CT is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. You’ll own monthly journal entries, assist in close processes, and ensure accurate reporting across multiple business units within a global organization.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Finance or Accounting, 5+ years of accounting experience, and strong Excel skills. GAAP knowledge and cross-system data analysis are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of professional accounting experience.
• GAAP knowledge and strong Excel skills.
• Experience with multiple systems for data retrieval and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries with precision.
• Assist in month-end close and timely financial reporting.
• Analyse and reconcile balance sheet accounts for accuracy.
• Support Sales with item pricing, order entry, and invoicing.
• Manage Fixed Assets and Leases and ensure proper accounting.
• Prepare and analyse sales and tax returns for compliance.
• Contribute to special projects as a finance team member.
• Support Accounts Payable and collaborate on tasks.
• Suggest improvements to day-to-day controls and procedures.
• Respond to ad hoc information requests and reports.
