Job summary

The Collier Companies, Inc. is seeking an Accountant to join our Florida Home Office in Gainesville. This role focuses on financial accounting for construction projects and related analysis within a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's in Accounting (CPA a plus) and strong Excel, analytical, and communication skills. You will contribute to accuracy, deadlines, and continuous improvement in our accounting processes.

The Accountant will join the Collier Accounting team and will be primarily responsible for financial accounting needs of our construction projects and assigned financial analysis.

Qualifications

Essential Job Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting and CPA a plus
• Strong Excel skills/experience required
• Possess sufficient knowledge of internal systems/controls to evaluate current processes
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Construction accounting knowledge a plus
• Ability to complete complex reconciliations
• Preparation of various financial statements and analysis reports
• Provide an analytical review of financial results using Excel, Word or Powerpoint
• Attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and in writing
• Review and approve vendor invoices for accuracy, validity and completeness
• Ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced, growing environment
• Willingness and ability to accept new projects as they develop
