Job summary

huMannity Medtec, located in Santa Clarita, CA, seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial operations and reporting. The role reports to the Controller and drives month-end close, reconciliations, audits, and internal controls with cross‑functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, GAAP expertise, and strong Excel/ERP skills, enabling accurate financial reporting and efficient processes across the organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with full-cycle accounting, including month-end close.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex accounting issues and exercise sound judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and general ledger activity.
• Evaluate accounting transactions and determine classification, timing, and GAAP compliance.
• Manage fixed assets and sales tax compliance.
• Review accounting transactions for accuracy and internal controls.
• Analyze and resolve accounting issues, discrepancies, and variances.
• Prepare audit schedules and support for internal/external audits.
• Support audit inquiries and assist in audits as needed.
• Strengthen internal controls and identify process improvements.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Payroll, Operations, and other teams.
• Document accounting decisions and supporting rationale for significant transactions.
