Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage in Mission Viejo is seeking a Senior Accountant to assist in the monthly close process and prepare financial statements. This role involves coordinating reporting, maintaining internal controls, and assisting with audits.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with 2+ years of relevant experience. The position offers a hybrid work model and a competitive salary with benefits including health insurance and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in public accounting and/or private company accounting.
• CPA or in process of licensure preferred.
• Prior experience in a REIT is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial statement consolidation and quarterly financial statement package.
• Coordinate and review monthly reporting from property accountants.
• Produce journal entries and account reconciliations.
