Job summary

The State of New Hampshire is seeking a seasoned accounting professional to plan and coordinate agency accounting and auditing functions within the Fiscal Management Section.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and at least one year of experience (or an equivalent combination) in accounting, auditing, or business administration, with opportunities for trainee status and an in-state remote-hybrid schedule after training.

Qualifications

• Education and experience must be in accounting, business administration or auditing work.
• Preferred: supervision of programs or employees, strong finance skills and leadership.
• Experience with financial analysis, auditing and budgeting is valued.

Responsibilities

• Develops accounting systems and procedures in line with federal and state rules.
• Serves as technical and financial expert in policy interpretation for staff.
• Oversees reconciliation and auditing of monthly revenues and expenditures from multiple data systems.
• Prepares reports for policy, budget, and federal reporting needs.
• Assists with audits by internal and external teams.
• Contributes to the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and Single Audit Report.
• Trains staff, reviews work, and updates procedures and policy manuals.
• Provides backup support within the unit and for administrators.
