Job summary

UNITY Search, a Houston-based multi-generational family office, seeks a Senior Accountant to lead month-end close, prepare financial statements, and review staff work. You will support private equity accounting, intercompany processes, and external investor reporting in a hybrid environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, and strong GAAP knowledge, with CPA or public accounting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• CPA and/or public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Family office, private equity, or investment banking experience a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, judgment, integrity, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead key components of the month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting.
• Review journal entries and financial statements prepared by staff accountants.
• Support private equity investment accounting, fund statements, capital calls, and distributions.
• Assist with quarterly investment valuations and external investor reporting.
• Lead intercompany accounting processes.
• Support budgeting, audits, and research/resolution of accounting issues.
• Help improve accounting processes and overall efficiency.
