Job summary

AAA Washington seeks a Senior Accountant to oversee monthly accounting activities, ensuring accuracy across the general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close processes in support of the organization.

This role requires advanced Excel skills and ERP experience to prepare monthly journal entries, reconcile ledgers, analyze variances, and provide timely financial insights to leadership while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years’ experience in accounting and accounting system technologies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations including general ledger, reporting, banking, receivables and payables.
• Prepare, review, analyze and distribute monthly financial statements.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes for the accounting department.
• Review and balance lease accounting monthly.
• Prepare Federal, State and Local tax filings and maintain supporting docs.
• Prepare and process monthly journal entries and reconcile ledgers.
• Assist with budgeting processes and variance analysis.
