Job summary

Balchem Corporation seeks a Senior Accountant to partner with finance leadership in delivering accurate, timely financial reporting and supporting internal and external reporting under US GAAP and SOX. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience a plus.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred or CPA-eligible; other relevant certifications welcome.
• 3-5 years of progressively responsible accounting and/or auditing experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Advanced Excel and data analytics proficiency.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (D365, Oracle EPM).
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries; perform month-end close activities; ensure timely financial reporting per US GAAP.
• Analyze, reconcile, and maintain general ledger and expense account balances; investigate variances and prepare analyses.
• Generate financial statements and management reports; contribute to SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q).
• Perform variance analysis versus budget and forecasts; communicate drivers to management.
• Review staff work to ensure accuracy and adherence to accounting policies.
• Assist with consolidations and multi-entity accounting as required.
• Support external financial reporting requirements, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q review.
• Provide documentation for SOX testing, audits, and quarterly reviews.
• Assist in implementing and optimizing new financial reporting systems and technology upgrades.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
