Job summary

Canon U.S.A., Inc. in Melville, NY seeks a Senior Accountant to manage general ledger reconciliations, forecasting, reserve valuations, and special projects on a hybrid schedule in-office Mon–Wed with remote work the rest of the week.

Responsibilities include month-end close, variance analysis, financial reporting, and audit support. Requires 5+ years of accounting experience and a Bachelor's in Accounting; CPA preferred; Spanish skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required with 5 years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to research GAAP and other authoritat ive pronouncements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, time management and written skills.
• Professional proficiency in Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Conduct balance sheet trend analysis and prepare financial reports.
• Monitor assigned accounts for financial exposure and elevate concerns to management.
• Research and resolve account variances and exceptions.
• Execute month-end close processes.
• Assist with transmission and reporting of financials.
• Test general ledger backup to ensure data integrity.
• Support physical inventory and fixed asset audits.
• Assist with internal audits and use tax audits.
• Assist team with special projects.
• Ensure accounting processes comply with US GAAP and internal policies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and new procedures
