Job summary

Ushio America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to support GAAP-based financial reporting, monthly close, inventory accounting, and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.

You will partner with Operations, Logistics, Production, and Leadership to drive process improvements, ensure strong internal controls, and support audits and regulatory reporting. This role offers a hybrid schedule in California with significant cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with 3–5 years in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented and deadline‑driven with a high degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries for close and reconcile accounts.
• Allocate expenses to business units and close monthly/quarterly/yearly.
• Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and capex tracking.
• Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts and analyze variances.
• Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Maintain and analyze standard costs and monitor inventory transactions.
• Reconcile inventory subledgers to the general ledger and assist in BOM reviews.
