Job summary

Connect Search LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant in Downtown Chicago, IL with a hybrid work model (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). The role focuses on general ledger, month-end close, and manufacturing cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.

You will prepare financial statements, analyze variances, and support AP/AR and fixed assets, helping drive accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing overheads helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements including balance sheets and cash flow.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Manage manufacturing accounting: inventory, standard costs, and production variances.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and accruals.
• Analyze manufacturing costs to support reporting and business decisions.

Job Title: Senior Accountant
Pay: $30–40 an hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger accounts, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reporting.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate variances, discrepancies, and unusual transactions.
• Manage and analyze manufacturing-related accounting activities, including inventory, cost accounting, standard costs, and production variances.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accruals, and other accounting functions as needed.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and production expenses, to support financial reporting and business decisions.
