Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co., LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Senior Accountant (Accountant III) to manage complex general ledger activity, prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheets, and support audits and regulatory reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 5+ years of experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP). Experience with AS400 and Lawson is a plus. On-site work with potential for process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 5+ years in an accounting environment.
• Solid GAAP knowledge.
• Experience with GL, month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries for accruals, prepaid assets and other accounts.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciliation items.
• Explain unusual transactions and assist with tax filings and regulatory reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and collaborate with process owners on improvements.
• Assist with financial audits and provide supporting documentation.
• Participate in projects as necessary for business needs
