David Raines Community Health Center, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant in Shreveport, LA to perform general accounting and purchasing tasks.

You will prepare month-end journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, process payroll, and analyze financial data to support management decisions. The role emphasizes internal controls, compliance with GAAP and FQHC regulations, and collaboration with the Controller and CFO on budgeting and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• At least three years of experience in business and/or finance operations.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Record month-end journal entries for accuracy and reporting (AR, AP accruals, depreciation, prepaids, payroll accruals).
• Assist with annual independent audit process and prepare audit schedules.
• Manage annual cost report audit process and related documentation.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Process payroll and analyze financial data for trends, variances, and risks.
• Prepare timely financial statements for review with Controller and CFO.
• Maintain GAAP and FQHC accounting compliance; support budgeting and forecasts.
• Support accounts payable, vendor payments, and annual inventory processes.
