Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Finance Department. The role focuses on operating reporting, contract accounting for government contracts and foundations, and supervision of Staff Accountants.

Formación

• CPA or Bachelor's in Accounting with 4 years relevant experience.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills - ability to relate and clearly communicate with operating management, financial staff and other departments.
• Ability to analyze problems and recommendations and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to initiate projects, prioritize tasks and complete tasks on a timely basis with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment meet deadlines.
• Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
• Ability to pass "PROVE-IT" SKILLS TEST.
• Strong work ethic and sense of urgency in completing tasks; willingness to work a flexible schedule and support the organization's mission.
• Considered A Plus: Non-profit government contracting experience, Lawson Financial System, CPA

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and supervise contract accounting for government contracts and foundation grants.
• Regulatory filings (claims, budget modifications close-outs, advances).
• Revenue, receivable and expense reconciliations.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivable balances with funding sources.
• Provide managerial accounting support including budgets, monthly reporting and variance analyses.
• Assist in year-end corporate and contract compliance audits.
• Develop working papers and schedules; supervise staff as needed.
