Job summary

Southwest Behavioral and Health Services is seeking a Sr. Accountant to support the monthly close, reconciliations and financial reporting for multiple HUD entities. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field and 4–5 years of accounting experience, including GAAP and non-profit knowledge.

This position offers a hybrid Monday–Friday schedule in the Phoenix area. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, able to coordinate with teams, and possess

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field required.
• 4–5 years of accounting experience including general ledger and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of non-profit GAAP accounting and procedures preferred.
• Experience with Great Plains, Management Reporter and advanced Excel requested.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting activities for HUD corporations including vendor invoices, deposits, journal entries, payments, inter-company reconciliations and budgets.
• Assist with monthly close, revenue calculations for payer contracts and expense accruals, including year-end close.
• Prepare select monthly general ledger reconciliations and analyses.
• Analyze financial data to support budget variance analysis.
• Ensure contract/grant billing compliance and timely invoicing.
• Support annual budgeting process and periodic audits.
• Produce financial reports, scorecards, and exhibits as requested.
