gpac seeks a Senior Accountant to lead the implementation of accounting and financial management processes for a mid-sized department or agency. You will perform professional accounting duties contributing to fiscal management in a centralized operation.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Accounting/Finance and 2+ years of professional accounting experience, with ability to oversee invoice processing, payments, and all accounts while ensuring compliance and preparing reports for leadership.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of governmental accounting and auditing principles, practices, procedures, methods, and theory.
• Knowledge of computerized accounting systems including automated accounting systems and their applications.
• Knowledge of the complete accounting cycle and reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of budgetary procedures and controls.
• Knowledge of supervisory principles and procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable laws related to financial services operations.
• Knowledge of office software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
• Ability to schedule, assign, monitor, and evaluate subordinates.
• Ability to analyze and audit accounting, fiscal, and payroll data.
• Ability to develop computer-based spreadsheets, graphs, summaries, and reports.

• Lead the implementation of accounting and financial management processes for a mid-sized department or area.

• Ensure pre-audit of expenditures and audit for compliance with statutes and policies.
