Job summary

Avathon, Inc in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Senior Accountant Associate to join a fast-growing finance team. The role reports to the Finance Head (India) and covers revenue accounting, invoicing, AR management, and month-end close for both India and US entities.

You will collaborate with Project Managers and operations to ensure accurate revenue recognition, contract accounting, and compliance with GST and internal policies in a global environment. Onsite Bangalore, 5-day workweek.

Qualifications

• Total at-least 5 years experience in accounting roles with exposure to revenue accounting
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end close processes
• Hands-on experience with AP and intercompany accounting
• Working knowledge of GST and basic compliance requirements

Responsibilities

• Review customer contracts to determine revenue recognition treatment
• Prepare monthly revenue recognition schedules for India and US entities
• Reconcile contract assets and liabilities and investigate variances
• Coordinate with project teams to align milestones with revenue recognition
• Own invoicing activities and monitor AR aging
• Post weekly cash postings and reconcile with accounting records
• Prepare depreciation and amortization entries and support month-end close
• Compute and report sales tax liabilities and ensure compliance
