Job summary

Pacific Service Credit Union is seeking a Senior Accountant in Concord, CA to independently perform complex accounting activities and support accurate financial reporting. You will maintain general ledger areas, contribute to monthly and year-end close, and assist audits, examinations, and process improvements.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and adherence to accounting standards while supporting cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence for member services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline; CPA/CMA preferred or in progress.
• Minimum four years of progressively responsible accounting experience, preferably in financial institutions.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and post journal entries, including recurring, accrual, amortization, reclassification, and other complex entries.
• Research accounting issues and determine appropriate treatment in accordance with standards.
• Maintain detailed account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Support monthly and year-end close processes and related reporting.
• Assist with regulatory reports and audits; ensure compliance with policies.
