Job summary

HOYA Vision Care in Lewisville, Texas is seeking a Senior Accountant, General Ledger & Payroll Accounting to join our Corporate Finance team. You will manage month-end close, post journal entries, reconcile ledgers, and ensure payroll transactions are accurately reflected in financial records in collaboration with HR and Payroll teams.

You should have 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong SAP ERP knowledge (ECC/S4HANA), and proven ability to improve processes in a controlled

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
8+ years of progressive accounting experience with GL and reconciliations.
Payroll accounting experience, payroll reconciliations, and employee accruals preferred.
Experience with SAP ERP systems (SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA) preferred.
Experience with ADP a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare and post monthly journal entries, analyses, and reconciliations.
Close monthly, quarterly, and annual periods with accuracy and timeliness.
Reconcile balance sheets and investigate discrepancies.
Coordinate with AR, AP, Treasury, HR, and Payroll for cash activity and intercompany transactions.
Record intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Support audits by providing schedules and documentation.

Job description

HOYA Vision Care is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant, General Ledger & Payroll Accounting to join our Corporate Finance team in Lewisville, Texas. This role works closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Finance teams to ensure the accurate accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of payroll-related transactions and general ledger activities. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, payroll accounting analysis, intercompany transactions, and internal control activities. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience operating within a controlled financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger Accounting

Prepare and post monthly journal entries, supporting schedules, and account analyses.
Perform month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial results.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner.
Partner with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and other accounting teams to ensure all cash activity is recorded accurately and timely.
Prepare and record intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Analyze financial results and provide explanations for month-over-month and year-over-year variances.
Support quarterly and annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.

Payroll Accounting

Record and reconcile payroll-related journal entries, including wages, bonuses, commissions, payroll taxes, and other employee-related liabilities.
Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies between payroll systems and the general ledger.
Partner with Human Resources and Payroll teams to ensure payroll transactions are accurately reflected in financial records.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll-related reporting requirements.

Systems & Process Improvement

Develop a strong understanding of end-to-end transaction flows between payroll, sub-ledgers, and the general ledger.
Support SAP ECC and S/4HANA initiatives, including testing, process documentation, system enhancements, and user acceptance testing.
Drive continuous process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

Experience

8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
Experience with payroll accounting, payroll reconciliations, and employee-related accruals strongly preferred.
Experience with SAP ERP systems (SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA) preferred.
Experience with ADP system a plus.
