Confidential Employer in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Senior Accountant to strengthen financial reporting, month-end close, and process improvements in a fully on-site role.

You’ll work with a manufacturing-focused team, handle general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and internal controls, with opportunities to impact SOX compliance and accounting systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional general ledger (GL) accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
• Experience with Oracle, Essbase, manufacturing accounting, or SOX compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger accounting activities, journal entries, and monthly closing processes.
• Prepare account reconciliations and analyze financial transactions to ensure accuracy.
• Support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
• Assist with fixed assets, lease accounting, and special financial projects.
• Help strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and SOX compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems and operational efficiency.

• CPA certification is not required.
