Job summary

The MetroHealth System is seeking a Sr Accountant- General Accounting to support accurate financial reporting, analysis, and audit schedules across the system and related entities. The role emphasizes close collaboration with management and adherence to standards within a major Ohio health system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; minimum of four years of financial accounting experience.
• Minimum of two years public accounting or financial reporting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; intermediate MS Excel.
• Strong presentation, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to function at a high level in demanding environment.
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results.
• Willing/able to work additional hours as needed (month-end close).
• Ability to interact with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs accounting functions with a high level of complexity including timely and accurate reporting, monthly financial analysis, reconciliations, and audit schedules, to support the System and its related entities’ financial statements.
• Demonstrates accuracy and sound reasoning; conducts comprehensive research and analysis to inform management and implement improvements.
• Evaluates accounting practices and reporting methods to optimize efficiency, accuracy and compliance with standards.
