Job summary

Planet Pharma is seeking a Senior Accountant in California to participate in daily accounting operations and ensure GAAP/SOX compliance. You will handle monthly closes, prepare work papers, and support audits with the accounting team.

Strong emphasis on policy development and control improvements in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical setting. The role requires a BS/BA in Accounting, CPA or public audit experience is a plus, and Oracle R12/EBS proficiency is desired.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Accounting required.
• CPA and/or public audit experience a plus.
• Experience with Oracle R12 and Oracle EBS preferred.

Responsibilities

• General ledger accounting for balance sheet areas including accruals, prepaids, A/R, cash, lease accounting and others.
• Support monthly close by preparing work papers and reconciliations.
• Ensure SOX compliance and maintain controls with documentation.
• Assist external auditors with quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
• Develop and update internal control narratives and control matrices.
• Research and document appropriate FASB ASC accounting treatments as needed.
• Suggest improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
