Job summary

Ranpak in Ohio is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead the monthly close, reconcile general ledger accounts, and ensure accurate financial reporting under US GAAP. The role collaborates with cross functional teams to support manufacturing operations and regulatory compliance.

Candidates must have a bachelor's in accounting, at least five years of experience, and strong Excel and ERP system experience (SAP/HFM). CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a public company manufacturing sector.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications. SAP and HFM highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manages the monthly and quarterly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate results.
• Reviews and reconciles general ledger accounts, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting principles.
• Prepares financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provides detailed analysis of variances.
• Prepares and files quarterly and annual tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Supports external audit engagements by providing documentation and explanations of financial transactions and supporting schedules.
• Develops and maintains accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provides guidance and support to accounting staff, assisting with training and development as needed.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and process improvements.
• Performs other accounting duties as assigned.
