Job summary

VE Solutions is seeking an Accountant to join the Finance team in Ohio. The role covers general ledger maintenance, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, tax filings, and audit support.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience and strong GAAP knowledge. You will collaborate with management, auditors, and internal departments to maintain accurate records and effective controls, taking ownership of tasks and improving processes while upholding company

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP, general ledger, month-end closing, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of corporate tax and state sales/use tax.
• Proficient in Excel with ability to analyze and reconcile data.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger maintenance and ensure transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, including the preparation and posting of journal entries.
• Prepare and maintain balance-sheet account reconciliations, research discrepancies, and complete corrections.
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements (balance sheets and income statements).
• Support cash-management activities, forecasting, and reporting.
• Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns and support tax reporting requirements.
• Assist with accounts receivable, credit, collections, and other accounting tasks as needed.
• Support inventory accounting, cycle counts, and physical inventory activities.
