Job summary

Delta Dental of Iowa, a not-for-profit dental and vision insurer, seeks a Senior Accountant to lead monthly and annual financial reporting under GAAP, manage payroll and employee benefit accounting, and ensure accurate financial data across subsidiaries.

You will partner with HR and other departments to support compensation programs, drive process improvements, and strengthen internal controls while leveraging automation to boost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience including financial reporting and month-end close.
• Experience supporting payroll, employee benefits, retirement programs, and related compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements and reconciliations.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
• Oversee payroll, benefits, and retirement program accounting and reporting.
• Improve processes and internal controls; implement automation.
• Prepare management fee reports for subsidiaries.
• Manage processes for internal sales incentive programs.
• Maintain PAC accounts records.
• Provide cost allocation analysis and broker bonus data.
• Collaborate across departments to drive efficiencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
