Job summary

Delta Dental of Idaho seeks an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting team, produce monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and NAIC statutory requirements, and support SOC 1/2, GAAP, and statutory audits. You will manage day-to-day postings, close processes, and consolidation, ensuring strong internal controls.

The role requires a Bachelor's in accounting/finance, 3–5 years of experience with 1–2 in supervision, and advanced Excel skills. CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA designation preferred but not required.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, including 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of GAAP and audit techniques.
• Dental/medical insurance industry experience preferred.
• Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per GAAP and NAIC statutory requirements.
• Assist with annual tax returns with CPA collaboration.
• Oversee daily/month-end postings, close process, cash flow, AP/AR, and intercompany transactions.
• Manage consolidation and intercompany activities; prepare ad hoc reports.
• Lead external audits (SOC 1 & 2, GAAP, statutory) and internal audits; support regulatory audits.
