Job summary

BHE GT&S invites applications for a Senior Accountant position at our White Oaks general office in Bridgeport, WV. The role entails ensuring accuracy and quality of financial records, supporting month-end close and financial reporting, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have 2–4 years of accounting experience, solid GAAP knowledge, strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of general accounting experience or 1 year of experience working in public accounting.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, practices and procedures.
• Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good analytical skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other reports for accuracy and conformity to reporting and procedural standards.
• Conduct moderately complex assignments involving accounting projects and day‑to‑day maintenance of a general ledger.
• Identify inconsistencies and problems and communicate them to management.
• Perform appropriate accounting controls.
• Participate in month-end closing, quarterly and year-end financial reporting activities.
• Routinely interact with internal and external customers.
• Perform various work assignments under limited supervision.
