Job summary

Staffers Inc., a leading Systems Integration and Technology Consulting firm, seeks an experienced Accountant in Jackson, MS. This role offers ownership of the accounting process, accurate financial reporting, and meaningful analysis to support sound decisions within a growing technology company.

Responsibilities include maintaining the general ledger, preparing statements, reconciliations, AP/AR, journal entries, budgeting support, cash flow monitoring, and coordinating with auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or comparable ERP systems).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities independently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Monitor cash flow and support financial planning initiatives.
• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors during tax preparation and year-end activities.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
• Support leadership with financial reports, analysis, and special projects.
