Thompson Machinery is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee complex accounting activities and manage month-end close processes in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, audits support, and ensuring GAAP compliance while collaborating with multiple departments across Middle and West Tennessee and North Mississippi.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Experience supporting monthly close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
• Demonstrated experience owning key accounting processes while contributing to continuous improvement.
• History of building relationships across the organization and collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Review bank reconciliations and assist in resolving discrepancies.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain fixed assets records and ledger-to-subledger reconciliations.
• Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Assist with audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
