Job summary

Core-Mark International is seeking a Senior Accountant to ensure the integrity of accounting data by recording, verifying, consolidating, and reporting. The role analyzes numerical data, performs financial analyses, and prepares reports to guide management decisions.

Responsibilities include preparing entries, closing reports, month-end analysis, aged receivables review, earned income reporting, and ensuring SOX 404 compliance while coordinating with audits and IT on systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3+ years of general accounting or other relevant experience in high-volume transaction environment.
• Thorough understanding and application of GAAP.
• Strong oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Strong analytical and computer skills.
• Ability to analyze complex financial information.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects/tasks in a changing environment.
• Self-motivated with ability to work under and meet strict deadlines individually as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Access.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record accounting entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintain the integrity of the accounts by verifying, allocating, reconciling, and resolving discrepancies.
• Summarize and prepare financial status and close-out reports by collecting and verifying information and preparing statements.
• Prepare month-end reports for the field to explain results.
• Log cash as required.
• Assist in analyzing aged receivables as needed.
• Prepare earned income reports to guide management in their decision-making.
• Reconcile GL accounts and analyze marketing/earned income accounts.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and spreadsheets for management and customers.
• Ensure SOX 404 compliance and assist in audits.
