Job summary

NextEdge is seeking an Accountant II to independently support core accounting activities including journal entries, GL and bank reconciliations, subledger activity, and portions of month-end and year-end close processes.

This role partners with accounting leadership on review, policy, and approval activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and robust internal controls. A CPA track is preferred and several years of audit or corporate accounting experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university.
• 4+ years of experience in audit and/or corporate accounting.
• CPA or CPA track preferred.
• Project accounting or job-costing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain GL accounts per GAAP.
• Perform bank, GL, and subledger reconciliations.
• Support month-end/quarter-end/year-end close processes and analyses.
• Maintain accounting records and documentation for assigned areas.
• Provide monthly/quarterly/year-end analytical support and reporting.
• Support internal controls and documentation to strengthen controls.
• Assist with audit preparation and fieldwork requests.
• Support tax-related activities and scheduling.
