Job summary

Merit Advisors LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage advanced accounting, financial reporting, and analysis tasks with a commitment to accuracy, sound judgment, and continuous process improvement.

You will lead close cycles, prepare GAAP-compliant statements, perform GL entries and reconciliations, mentor junior staff, and present financial analysis to management. A Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA or CPA candidate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise.
• Experience with accounting software and MS Office.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or candidate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to monthly and annual close cycles with journal entries and account analysis.
• Prepare, analyze, and review GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, AP entries, and reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of complex accounts and resolve variances.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Mentor accounting clerks and junior staff.
