Job summary

Compass International Holdings is seeking a Senior Accountant in Madison, NJ to join the Regional Controllers Accounting team. You will report to an Accounting Manager and collaborate with managers across the organization to uphold strong control environments and improve efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and proficiency with GAAP, Oracle/BlackLine, and advanced Excel. CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Experience with Oracle and/or BlackLine preferred
• Strong GAAP accounting & reporting knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel
• Ability to multi-task and work independently

Responsibilities

• Ensure journal entry submissions are accurate and compliant with internal policies/GAAP
• Coordinate with departments to obtain support for journal entries
• Review monthly reconciliations for completeness and accuracy
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis for key accounts
• Lead monthly close activities including journal entries and accruals
• Ensure accounting activities comply with GAAP and internal policies
• Design and modify accounting procedures and records
• Lead process improvements and communicate to Senior Management
• Respond to ad hoc initiatives and special projects
• Maintain cross-functional communication with staff, executives, and clients
• Analyze income statement and balance sheet to explain numbers
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed
• Assist with special projects and other duties
• Review staff submissions of journal entries
