Job summary

Quest Financial in the Atlanta area is seeking an experienced Staff/Senior Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role handles day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, general ledger activity, and financial reporting and analysis.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
• Experience with monthly close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (MS Dynamics/Business Central preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyze general ledger activity and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Perform month-end close including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze financial trends and variances in P&L and balance sheets.
• Prepare internal financial statements and ad hoc analyses for leadership.
• Review financial entries for accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure data integrity.
• Support accounting compliance and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership to improve processes and reporting.
• Provide backup support across Accounts Payable and Receivable.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives.
