Job summary

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant in a fast-growing, on-site role in Sacramento. You will lead GAAP-based financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and drive process improvements across finance, operations, and HR.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 5+ years of experience, and advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and regulatory awareness.
• Hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Ensure all accounting practices meet compliance standards, internal control requirements, and audit expectations.
• Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance with financial laws and standards.
• Manage complex general ledger activities including accruals, revenue recognition, amortization, and intercompany transactions.
• Perform and review account reconciliations for completeness and accuracy.
• Research and document technical accounting issues and implement solutions.
• Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors and prepare audit schedules.
• Lead internal audit readiness activities and address audit findings.
• Identify areas for process improvement and drive enhancements in accounting workflows.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; provide insights to leadership.
