Job summary

Sea Machines Robotics, a fast-growing startup revolutionizing autonomous marine technology, seeks a Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, reconcile accounts, and support monthly and annual close. You will maintain the general ledger, prepare financial statements, analyze results, and partner with department leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements in a hybrid Boston office.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of accounting experience, strong U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems such as QuickBooks preferred.
• Experience supporting audits and tax preparation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide recommendations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions with accuracy.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare and file sales tax and other regulatory filings as required.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Partner with department leaders to monitor budgets and provide financial guidance.
• Assist with purchasing, procurement, and expense management processes.
• Participate in special projects and systems improvements.
