Job summary

Jobot is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant in Tampa, FL, to manage premium receipts, payments, and reconciliations while supporting general ledger activities and month-end close. The role emphasizes strong AP/AR experience, discrepancy investigation, and ownership of detailed accounting work.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least three years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• At least three years of accounting experience with strong AP/AR and reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and month-end close.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze large transaction datasets.
• NetSuite experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile client premium receipts and payments to insurance carriers.
• Investigate partial payments, outstanding balances, and discrepancies between expected and actual funds.
• Perform daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate records in NetSuite and proprietary systems.
• Prepare account reconciliations and support a five‑day month‑end close.
• Maintain transaction documentation and develop procedures for recurring activities.
• Process monthly, quarterly, and annual state filings.
• Support annual audits and partner with accounting leadership to improve accuracy and efficiency.
