Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5–10 years of accounting experience, with hands-on cost accounting, AP, and AR.
• ERP experience required; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) strongly preferred.
• Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
• Knowledge of GAAP; manufacturing or food production experience preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead junior staff and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, depreciation, and prepaid expense adjustments.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts (banks, intercompany, fixed assets).
• Assist in preparing the financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
• Conduct variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and prior periods.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes with accurate recording.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
• Maintain fixed asset ledger, post depreciation, and reconcile inventories.
• Prepare fixed asset reports and develop asset policies and procedures.
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and amortization entries.
• Perform daily/monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Calculate and record broker commissions; reconcile commission accounts and payments.
• Prepare commission reports and review outstanding balances for management.
