Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled accountant to guide staff, manage budgeting processes, and produce departmental financial statements. The role interfaces with finance and operations, ensuring internal controls and accurate reporting across facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 3 years of relevant experience, and preferably a CPA. MBA is a plus, with readiness to travel as needed in a healthcare system.

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance and training to accounting staff.
• Analyzes budgeted expenses, identifies reconciling items and internal controls.
• Manages system files for departmental reporting and cost allocation.
• Produces and disseminates departmental financial statements.
• Interfaces between finance and operations and prioritizes departmental requests.
• Provides research and education to leadership on financial transactions.
• Reviews monthly statements and facilitates corrective actions.
• Participates in special financial projects and ad hoc reports.
• Performs other related duties as required.
