Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking an accounting professional to guide staff, manage budgeting, and produce departmental financial statements across multiple facilities. The role partners with directors and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and strong internal controls.

The candidate will analyze income statements, assist with audits, and contribute to improving financial processes, while traveling as needed to support various facilities and hours including nights or weekends if required.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Preferred: MBA.
• Required: 3 years of related experience.
• Preferred: CPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance and training to accounting staff.
• Analyzes budget expenses, identifies reconciling items and internal controls.
• Maintains departmental reporting and cost allocation system files.
• Produces and disseminates departmental financial statements.
• Acts as liaison between finance and operations, guiding accountants.
• Provides research and education to departmental leadership on financial transactions.
• Reviews monthly statements and facilitates corrective actions.
• Participates in special financial projects and ad hoc reports.
