Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking an Accountant III to maintain the general ledger, analyze expense accounts, and review payroll and accounts payable inputs. The role supports financial reporting and budgeting, with opportunities for growth across the finance team.

The Accountant III will work with state management to ensure accurate financial results, assist with forecasting, and participate in internal control processes. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 4–6 years of related experience.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze monthly results to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
• Post journal entries to record accruals and adjustments as needed.
• Ensure accuracy of general ledgers for subsidiary companies.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual close of the books.
• Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts for cash, receivables, payables, and costs.
