Workstream is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support the accounting team and serve as a go-to resource for the Controller in day-to-day operations and process improvements. This onsite role at Florence, SC offers the chance to strengthen financial operations for a fast-growing QSR franchise.

The ideal candidate has GAAP knowledge, strong Excel skills, and a proactive mindset, with ownership of month-end close, reconciliations, and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of accrual‑based accounting and GAAP.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, adapt, and meet time‑sensitive deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and balance daily sales from the point-of-sale system.
• Balance daily sales from POS system and investigate variances.
• Support period-end close, including accruals, account analyses, and preparation of financial statements.
• Identify anomalies, missing transactions, or irregularities and resolve them.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Manage compliance matters, including business licenses, permits, and sales and use tax returns.
• Review monthly sales tax worksheets and file and pay sales taxes.
• Support interim and year-end audit work as needed.
• Manage annual 1099 filings and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency, clarity, and financial accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
