Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or proven work experience.
• Strong knowledge of accrual-based accounting and GAAP.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, adapt, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and balance daily sales from the point-of-sale system.
• Perform timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies to support reliable financial reporting.
• Support period-end close, including accruals, account analyses, and preparation of accurate financial statements.
• Identify anomalies, missing transactions, or irregularities and proactively resolve them.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Manage compliance matters, including business licenses, permits, and sales and use tax returns.
• Review monthly sales tax worksheets and file and pay sales taxes to the appropriate authorities.
• Support interim and year-end audit work as needed.
• Manage annual 1099 filings and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that increase efficiency, clarity, and financial accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
