Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. in Edison, NJ is seeking a Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting and Consolidations to drive the close, consolidate multiple entities and prepare GAAP financials for SEC reporting.

The role reports to the Financial Reporting Manager and requires strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail. The position is hybrid with in-office presence in Edison, NJ or San Diego, CA, with potential travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting/Finance from a four-year university.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting (auditing), public company financial reporting, or mix of both.
• Experience preparing or auditing SEC filings.
• CPA and Big 4 experience is highly preferred.
• Construction and/or renewable energy industry experience is preferred.
• Strong technical background and proficient knowledge of current U.S. GAAP.
• Ability to organize work and handle multiple projects with concurrent deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills, with a high attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile intercompany and interdivisional transactions and balances and prepare necessary elimination entries for consolidation for multiple entities.
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
• Perform technical accounting research and interpret accounting guidance to ensure compliance and proper accounting treatment of complex transactions. Draft technical accounting memoranda to formalize conclusions.
• Monitor and assist in implementation of new accounting standards and reporting requirements as needed.
• Support and help to maintain consolidated reporting systems, including reconciliation of data and reports.
• Support M&A integration activities, including purchase accounting, accounting policy alignment, integrating into consolidated reporting and structuring eliminations.
• Support SOX 404 compliance efforts, including assisting in the design and implementation of control enhancements as necessary.
• Support external service providers, such as auditors and valuation specialists, by providing requested documentation and explanations in timely manner.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
