Job summary

Matter Family Office is hiring a Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day financial relationships for a portfolio of client families and their entities from our Denver-area operations. You will supervise Staff Accountants, coordinate with external professionals, and escalate sensitive issues while supporting a growing team.

The ideal candidate has a CPA or progress toward it, 4+ years in accounting (3+ with QuickBooks Online and Bill.com), and strong attention to detail for multi-entity family

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• 4+ years accounting experience, including 3+ years with QuickBooks Online and Bill.com.
• Bookkeeping mastery and ability to review and correct others' work.
• Knowledge of partnership accounting, book vs tax, and estate planning mechanisms.
• Understanding CPAs need for quarterly estimates and accurate tax returns.
• Experience managing family finances including budgeting and cash flow.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for a portfolio of client families and handle routine bill-pay and reporting.
• Review financial statements and bookkeeping prepared by Staff Accountants before publication.
• Review and execute accounts payable and payroll as needed.
• Own budget-vs-actual analysis and contribute to budgeting and forecasting.
• Participate in monthly peer-review and internal-audit process.
• Coordinate with vendors, banks, accountants, attorneys, and financial advisors.
• Mentor Staff Accountants and prepare client meeting follow-ups.
